Calls for the 9th edition of the Gaetano Marzotto Prize have terminated.
More than 500 applications have been received to participate in Ticket to the Future, and now the screening phase has begun by more than 100 judges who will be evaluating the applications.
With the 351 proposals submitted for the Business Idea Prize, the Gaetano Marzotto Prize confirms itself as the ticket to the future for activities in their early stages and which have the opportunity of developing further thanks to the involvement of an wide-ranging network of Partners. This response is in line with previous editions, which have seen an increase in the requirements to participate in the Business Idea prize competition.
The Lombardy Region is once again the region with the most entries, followed by Lazio, Veneto, Emilia Romagna and Piedmont. The Bio/Med/Life Sciences/Health Care sector had the highest number of projects submitted, followed by the Agro/Food Tech, l’Entertainment/Educational and ICT/IOT Tech sectors. As in 2018, the average age of participants is 37, with participation of female teams of 33%, perhaps as a result of the new AXA Special Prize / Female Startups.
As of today and through to November 21, 2019, the more than 100 evaluators – including entrepreneurs, investors, innovation experts and researchers – will be involved in the screening process, in order to identify the winners of the total prize money of more than 2 million euros, which includes recognition in cash prizes and mentorships, for the 15 categories of the competion: Business Prize, Business Idea Prize, Accenture Special Prize, Amazon Web Services Special Prize, AXA Special Prize / Female Startups, Cisco Special Prize, Corporate Fast Track Special Prize, Engineering Ingegneria Informatica Special Prize, EY Special Prize, Invitalia Special Prize, Italcementi / HeidelbergCement Special Prize, Marzotto Venture Accelerator / Rome Innovation Hub Special Prize, Microsoft Special Prize, Repower Special Prize and Unicredit Start Lab Special Prize.

All of which leads to November 21, 2019, with the Finals in Rome of the ninth edition of the Gaetano Marzotto Prize, when the Special Prizes will be awarded; from the programmes of Open Innovation Fast Track, with the involvement of llycaffè, QVC Italia, Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo, Santex Rimar Group, Zcube – Zambon Research Venture; along with the Business Prize and the Business Idea prize which have a value of 300,000 and 50,000 euros, respectively, to be awarded by the Associazione Progetto Marzotto, which will also be taking the opportunity to give thanks to the wide-ranging network of members who support this ambitious project and to wish good luck to everyone!
